Public integrity is a set of values and principles that should guide the public sector, ensuring that administrative acts are conducted based on the law, in a transparent manner, and that they serve the public interest. The integrity plan is a document that formalizes the organization's integrity program and the commitment of senior management to compliance. It contains the main information on the integrity risks of the organization, the control measures proposed to mitigate those risks and the policies for monitoring the integrity program. The Civil Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro became a State Secretariat again in January 2019 after 23 years as a Police Headquarters, subordinated to the State Security Secretariat and its managers face the challenge of adapting to a new management model with a focus on good governance and the principle of public integrity. That said, the present work sought to propose a set of actions to strengthen the Public Governance and integrity in SEPOL through the analysis of the Integrity Plan of SEPOL and identification of mechanisms of Management and Public Governance adopted in the institution. To this end, qualitative research of exploratory nature was conducted, with descriptive orientation using in-depth interviews with strategic managers of SEPOL. The methodological strategy used was participant-action research and the data obtained were analyzed using content analysis following Bardin's (2016) method. The analysis allowed us to conclude that for the strengthening of public governance and integrity in SEPOL the following actions are recommended: appreciation of public servants; dissemination of good governance practices; (effective) commitment of senior management with governance and integrity; revision of SEPOL's Strategic Planning; dissemination of the demands of the Safety Community Councils; updating of SEPOL's Code of Ethics; wide dissemination of the Integrity Plan; training; development of an internal communication plan.
