The dengue control activities in Pirai - RJ, incorporated into the activities of the Family Health Strategy (FHS) since 2005, experienced advances related to the actions of environmental health surveillance, involved in the surveillance of dengue. The new model has promoted the integration of action, binding and responsibility of the health sector with the enrolled population, strengthening the care of the territory in the prevention of diseases and illnesses transmitted by vectors. This research aimed to analyze the process of implementing the integration of surveillance activities of dengue in the units of the health strategy of the family of Piraí and are guided in the construction of integral healthcare practices. Held managerial context of the political process and ensured that motivated the integration of action and sought to identify as are the perceptions, meanings and challenges for the Community Health Agents (CHA) on a daily surveillance activities and integrating them with their practices everyday. The results of the indicators of vector control, obtained after integration of the stocks in Pirai, show that it has been effective. In focus group health officials talked about the difficulty of the population to perceive and understand this new role of the ACS. On the other hand, they have great concern that this new activity will interfere with their relationship with the community. Was also identified that agents also distanced the action of health education of environmental surveillance. This difficulty seems to be related to their own design, yet individualistic and medicalized, the role of education and health promotion to be developed in the territory. Despite the great success achieved in the integration of actions, one must understand that this is a dynamic and constantly changing. It implies a constant exercise evaluation and dialogue on the issues involved in this practice daily.
