Construções adjetivas com cores: uma análise funcional centrada no uso

This research has as main central objective the study of the adjective constructions with colors in contemporary Portuguese, from the analysis of effective use of the language. In this context, we describe the instantiations of types as disappointment purple, fear white and hunger blue, supported by the theoretical perspective of Use Centered Functional Linguistics (LFCU). The LFCU focuses on studying the relationship between the grammatical structure of languages and the various communicative contexts in which they are used. Thus, this theory analyses the constructions of the language as a network of relationships that is effective in use organized in use (TROUGOTT and TROUDALE, 2013; CROFT, 2001; GOLDBERG, 2006). In this sense, we emphasize that the “purple of deception” micro-construction, like the other micro-constructions mentioned in this study, exhibits a process of change: from a more concrete use, with the purple adjective in the main function of adjective, to a more abstract use, helping to intensify the articulated sense. To support the analyses, we started with Corpus do Portuguese and Twitter. We adapted the synchronic perspective form the analysis. The results of this research show that the construction [Nc deN]qi presents itself as a new form and a new meaning, becoming a new mode in the network, presenting new content and a new format, belonging to the class of compound intensifier qualifiers.
