The present study it aims at to analyze the conditions of work of the domiciliary garbage collectors of the City of Rio de Janeiro. Although the relevance of the service of domiciliary collection exists few studies and research on the conditions of work of the collectors in this activity. The methodology used after theoretical basement was: application of interviews with the garbage collectors of the COMLURB in Management SG03R - Management Rio Comprido, comment on the part of the author, beyond studies of the accidents of the data base of the Sector of Security of the Work of the Company (it collects of data between 2000 and 2006). After quarrel and you analyze of the data we verify that although the diverse technological advances and injunctions adopted by the company, still exist necessity of improvements. Some recommendations had been proposals to improve the security and health of these workers and the reduction of decurrent the partner-ambient and partner-economic impacts of this activity and suggestions for future studies.
