Resumo: This article aimed to study the short story "A Captura do Cérbero" (2010) by the British writer Agatha Christie, under the perspective of the literary subgenre coming from the fantastique named strange proposed by Todorov (1981). During the research it was produced an explanation about the fantastique literature, through its main conceptions and facets. Then, it was analyzed in the narrative the main elements which can categorize the Christie"™s short stories as from the subgenre known as strange. The research was bibliographic and analytical. The theoric support was composed mainly by Todorov (1981). Lastly, there was success in analyzing the excerpts of the short story in order to consider it as evanescent narrative.

O presente artigo visou estudar o conto "A Captura de Cérbero" (2010), da escritora britânica Agatha Christie, sob a perspectiva do subgênero literário advindo do fantástico denominado estranho, proposto por Todorov (1981). No decorrer da pesquisa, foi feita uma explanação acerca de gênero literário e de literatura fantástica, percorrendo por suas principais concepções e facetas. Por conseguinte, foram analisados na narrativa os principais elementos que categorizam o conto de Christie como sendo do subgênero estranho. A pesquisa se deu de caráter bibliográfico e analí­tico. O aporte teórico foi composto, principalmente, por Todorov (1981). Por fim, houve êxito em analisar os excertos do conto para considerá-la como narrativa evanescente.
