Resumo: Colin Mcginn is an English philosopher, interested in explaining why the questioning is so hard and arid philosophical answers, throws a proposal at least daring; that the problems of philosophy are not only difficult, but also impossible to solve. Starting from a metaphilosophical investigation that identifies a pattern to the responses that philosophers have given to these problems, and a philosophy of mind which argues that humans are cognitively closed to certain aspects of reality, Mcginn concludes that the problems of philosophy, although real, are beyond our cognitive competence. This work aims to show the route that this author trail until you reach a proposal so unique, while attempts to characterize the originality of Mcginn in relation to other ways of looking at philosophy.

Partindo de uma investigação metafilosófica que identifica um padrão nas respostas que os filósofos têm dado a esses problemas, e de uma filosofia da mente que defende que os seres humanos são cognitivamente fechados a certos aspectos da realidade, Mcginn conclui que os problemas da filosofia, apesar de reais, estão além de nossa competência cognitiva.
