Human rights in Miguel Reale, dimensionsor axiological historicismo

This paper examines the contribution of Miguel Reale's axiological historicism to restructure the historicist understanding of human rights, especially after the synthesis of this thesis by Karel Vasak. We tried to show that Vasak's thesis finds in the classic book by the Spanish philosopher Ortega y Gasset: The Mass Rebellion a preliminary formulation. This is a relevant issue because after the document published by the UN, there was a growing international interest in the topic because it represented an effective valorization and protection of human dignity. The UN document had a notable international impact because, at the time of writing, it had as its backdrop the extermination, by the Nazis, of 6 million Jews and other atrocities committed in the Second World War. This fact indicated the urgency and relevance of an international document that consolidated the insupportable and inalienable value of the dignity of all human individuals. What we show in this article is how Miguel Reale's theses ratify the ideas of the UN document and how they provide supporting elements in the midst of the difficulties of application. In the development of the article, the analytical method was used to structure Miguel Reale's justifications about human dignity. The historical method will also be used, accompanying Reale, to explain that values recognized in time were considered as definitive.
