Resumo: Philosophy, and, perhaps too, Mathematics are the first rational forms of understanding the world. But, if Mathematics is known, Philosophy is still very little known. In fact, "what is Philosophy?" is still a question out definitive answer. This text intents to approach that question. For that, it will be divided in five topics: the object of study of the Philosophy, the paradigm crisis or of the disdain to the Philosophy, a characterization the Philosophy, the genuine character of the Philosophy, final considerations.

O presente texto, sem pretender oferecer uma abordagem exaustiva e completa, uma vez que isto não é ainda possí­vel, almeja oferecer, no entanto, uma proposição que possa, quiçá, lançar alguma luz sobre esta questão. Para isto será dividido em cinco tópicos: do objeto de estudo da Filosofia, a crise paradigmática ou do desdém à Filosofia, caracterizando a Filosofia, do caráter genuí­no da Filosofia, considerações finais.
