THE STRUCTURE INTO PHILOSOPHICAL TERRITORY: A READING OF MAUSS, LÉVI-STRAUSS AND MERLEAU-PONTY

Resumo: The ethnologial school of structuralism prevails in a France predominantly existencialist and phenomenologic, in terms of philosophical theory. The concept of structure that permeates the new sciences (sociology, psichology and linguistics) becomes, from Merleau-Ponty, one philosophical conception worthy of attention. Our article consists of one analysis of maussian origin of the concept of structure in Lévi-Strauss and how this same concept is reconfigured by Merleau-Ponty. Seek to emphasize the methodological differences that exist beetwen the authors, respectively, needs a galilean base for his theorizing, or opt for a metaphysical way. We will make explicit the merleau-pontyana structure as a concept that deals with the challenge of integrating a philosophical discourse that encompasses the savages in the preparation of an scape from the Cartesian tradition that subsidizes the modern sciences.

O conceito de estrutura que perpassa as novas ciências, a citar, sociologia, psicologia e linguí­stica, torna-se, a partir de Merleau-Ponty, uma concepção filosófica digna de atenção. Nosso artigo consiste de uma análise da origem maussiana do conceito de estrutura em Lévi-Strauss e de como este mesmo conceito é reconfigurado por Merleau-Ponty. Buscaremos enfatizar as divergências metodológicas que existem entre os autores que, respectivamente, necessitam de uma base galilaica para sua teorização, ou optam por uma via metafí­sica.
