Resumo: The purpose of this paper is to discuss the Epicurean political thinking, despite the scarcity of surviving sources from this school on this subject. Starting from the traditional epicurean position that the wise must refrain from politics we will try to show that such a warning was not inflexible and that, despite this school’s small theoretical corpus about the more general phenomenon of politics, still their teachings had major implications in the development of Political Thought from Rome to the present day.
