Resumo: | Starting from a previous consideration concerning the Aristotelian methodology, which aims to demonstrate how the notion of final cause, which Aristotle claimed to have been his discovery, is the method of all his investigations about the living beings, this paper intends to present the ascending escalation between the three types of soul conceptualized in Aristotelian thought, namely, the vegetative, sensitive and intellectual souls. Our goal here is to show that, although the human being is the paradigm in relation to which the other living beings are analyzed by Aristotle, there is also a natural continuity between the human being and the other living beings, a continuity that is the very condition of possibility of the analogies between them. |

Aristotle’s scala animaeA Scala Animae de AristótelesAristótelesCausa finalAlmaStarting from a previous consideration concerning the Aristotelian methodology, which aims to demonstrate how the notion of final cause, which Aristotle claimed to have been his discovery, is the method of all his investigations about the living beings, this paper intends to present the ascending escalation between the three types of soul conceptualized in Aristotelian thought, namely, the vegetative, sensitive and intellectual souls. Our goal here is to show that, although the human being is the paradigm in relation to which the other living beings are analyzed by Aristotle, there is also a natural continuity between the human being and the other living beings, a continuity that is the very condition of possibility of the analogies between them. Universidade do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte - UERN2023-06-20info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.apps.uern.br/index.php/RTF/article/view/439710.25244/tf.v15i1.4397Trilhas Filosóficas; v. 15 n. 1 (2022): Trilhas Filosóficas: Dossiê Aristóteles dito de muitos modos; 167-1841984-556110.25244/tf.v15i1reponame:Trilhas Filosóficas (Online)instname:Universidade do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte (UERN)instacron:UERNporhttps://periodicos.apps.uern.br/index.php/RTF/article/view/4397/3772Copyright (c) 2023 Felipe Ramos Gallhttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessRamos Gall, Felipe2023-06-23T20:21:26Zoai:ojs2.periodicos.apps.uern.br:article/4397Revistahttp://periodicos.apps.uern.br/index.php/RTF/indexPUBhttp://periodicos.apps.uern.br/index.php/RTF/oaitrilhasfilosoficas@uern.br || marcos_erico@yahoo.com.br10.25244/tf1984-55611982-7490opendoar:2023-06-23T20:21:26Trilhas Filosóficas (Online) - Universidade do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte (UERN)false |
