Resumo: In this paper we intend to introduce, parting from the first two letters exchanged between Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179) and Elisabeth von Schönau (1129-1164), the friendship and inspiring relation of these women, important 12th Century Christian visionary mystics who have greatly influenced medieval Christianity. Thus, we will present aspects of the life and work of the Rhine"™s Sibyl and its influence on Elisabeth von Schönau, also delimiting some of the differences between them including mystic.
