Resumo: The city is similar to a magnetic field that attracts, gathers, and concentrates men. "Magnets" cities were called that way because they have attractions that led the population from the countryside to the urban space. Inserted in this context, the Pau dos Ferros city, located in Rio Grande do Norte, presents characteristics of a centralized location that has been adding, over time, a set of spatial objects that transform it into a hierarchical region. Given this premise, this work has aims to realize a spatial analysis in a neighborhood of Pau dos Ferros/RN, to ascertain which are the urban elements that act as a magnet, which attract and gather the collectivity, based on the Rolnik (1995) theory. To evaluate this scenario was realized a survey of secondary data through a theoretical foundation by authors who approach the city"™s relation in a local/regional context, and then were made visits in the chosen neighborhood of the city mentioned for analysis of the main components of the local that have attractive characteristics. Thereby, it was verified that the main urban objects in the study area that have attractiveness were the Free Fair, Mother Church, Public Market, and the Mall since they concentrate cultural, religious, and economic elements in a single place. The study proves the relevance of the expansion of capitalism"™s production and circulation processes, through a spatial analysis in a cutting area in the city in question, to contribute to the scientific and social sphere.

Ciudades "imanes" se llamaban así­ porque tení­an atracciones que conducí­an a la población del campo al espacio urbano. Insertado en este contexto, el municipio de Pau dos Ferros, situado en Rio Grande do Norte, presenta caracterí­sticas de una localidad centralizada que ha ido agregando, con el tiempo, un conjunto de objetos espaciales que lo transforma en una región jerárquica. Dada esta premisa, este trabajo tiene como objetivo realizar un análisis espacial en un barrio del municipio de Pau dos Ferros/RN, para averiguar cuáles son los elementos urbanos que actúan como un imán, que atraen y reúnen la colectividad, utilizando como base la teorí­a de Rolnik (1995). Para la evaluación de este escenario, se realizó un levantamiento de datos secundarios por medio de fundamentos teóricos por autores que abordan la relación del municipio en un contexto local/regional y, en seguida, se realizaron visitas al barrio elegido del municipio mencionado para el análisis dos principales componentes del local que poseen caracterí­sticas atractivas. Con eso, se verificó que los principales objetos urbanos en el área de estudio que poseen la capacidad de atracción eran la Feria Libre, Iglesia Madre, Mercado Público y el Centro Comercial, ya que concentran elementos culturales, religiosos y económicos en un solo lugar. Se proba, por medio del estudio, la relevancia de la expansión de los procesos de producción y circulación del capitalismo a través de un análisis espacial en un área de corte en el municipio en cuestión, a fin de contribuir a la esfera cientí­fica y social. Cidades "imãs" eram chamadas dessa forma porque nelas possuí­am atrativos que conduziam a população do campo para o espaço urbano. Inserido nesse contexto, o municí­pio de Pau dos Ferros, localizado no Rio Grande do Norte, apresenta caracte- rí­sticas de uma localidade centralizada que vem agregando, ao longo do tempo, um conjunto de objetos espaciais que o transforma em uma região hierarquizada. Diante dessa premissa, este trabalho tem como objetivo realizar uma análise espacial em um bairro no municí­pio de Pau dos Ferros/RN com intuito de averiguar quais são os elementos urbanos que agem como um imã, que atraem e reúnem a coletividade, tomando como base a teoria de Rolnik (1995). Para a avaliação desse cenário, realizou-se um levantamento de dados secundários por meio de fundamentação teórica de autores que abordam a relação do municí­pio em contexto local/regional e, em seguida, realizou-se visitas no bairro escolhido do municí­pio supracitado para a análise dos principais componentes do local que possuem caracterí­sticas atrativas. Com isso, constatou-se que os principais objetos urbanos da área de estudo que possuem a capacidade de atração foram a Feira Livre, Igreja Matriz, Mercado Público e o Shopping, uma vez que concentram elementos culturais, religiosos e econômicos em um único sí­tio. Comprova-se, por meio do estudo, a relevância acerca da expansão dos processos de produção e de circulação do capitalismo através de uma análise espacial em uma área de recorte no municí­pio em questão, de forma a contribuir para a esfera cientí­fica e social.
