Methodological practices for the analysis of the environmental perception of IFRN-campus students Pau dos Ferros, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil

Resumo: Environmental awareness permeates all multidisciplinary areas in the search for present and future generations to have environmental equilibrium through sustainable actions. Given the above, there is concern about whether students are actually building this awareness that the importance of living in a balanced environment largely depends on human beings. The present research had as objective to analyze and evaluate the perception of the students of the Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Norte, of the Campus of Pau dos Ferros about its critical conception regarding the environment and its sustainable practices together with the society. The study was carried out through bibliographical research, debates, field practice and interviews using a questionnaire with a number of 180 students from six classes of the first and fourth year of high school between the years of (2014-1017). It was first established that students had basic information about the environment. However, there was no sense of empowerment and care for the environment, such as their belonging to it. After the activities carried out, the students presented a deepening of the subject, including to seek alternatives for preserving the environment in daily life. In this way, the importance of working with environmental education in high school was explored, in order to disseminate more and more the idea of environmental awareness through dialogue and a joint practice with society as an alternative of preservation and, therefore, conservation of the human species itself and of the planet Earth.

En vista de lo expuesto, existe la preocupación en saber si los alumnos realmente están construyendo esta concientización acerca de que la importancia de vivir en un ambiente equilibrado depende en gran parte de los seres humanos. La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo analizar y evaluar la percepción de los alumnos del Instituto Federal de Rio Grande do Norte, del Campus de Pau dos Ferros sobre su concepción crí­tica acerca del medio ambiente y de sus prácticas sostenibles en conjunto con la sociedad. El estudio se dio por medio de investigaciones bibliográficas, debates, práctica de campo y entrevistas utilizando cuestionario con un número de 180 alumnos de seis clases de 1º y 4º Año de la enseñanza media entre los años de (2014-1017). Se comprobó de inicio que los discentes poseí­an informaciones básicas sobre el medio ambiente. Sin embargo, no existí­a el sentimiento de empoderamiento y cuidado con el medio ambiente, como la pertenencia de éstos junto a éste. Después de las actividades realizadas, los discentes presentaron profundización del asunto, incluso para buscar alternativas de preservación del medio ambiente en el cotidiano. De esta forma, se percibió la importancia de trabajar la educación ambiental en la enseñanza media, para difundir cada vez más la idea de concientización ambiental a través del diálogo y una práctica conjunta con la sociedad, como alternativa de preservación y, de ese modo, de conservación de la propia especie humana y del planeta Tierra.A conscientização ambiental perpassa todas as áreas multidisciplinares na busca de que as gerações presentes e futuras tenham equilí­brio ambiental mediante ações sustentáveis. Diante do exposto, existe a preocupação em saber se os alunos realmente estão construindo esta conscientização acerca de que a importância de conviver em um ambiente equilibrado depende em grande parte dos seres humanos. A presente pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar e avaliar a percepção dos alunos do Instituto Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, do Campus de Pau dos Ferros sobre sua concepção crí­tica a respeito do meio ambiente e de suas práticas sustentáveis em conjunto com a sociedade. O estudo ocorreu por meio de pesquisas bibliográficas, debates, prática de campo e entrevistas utilizando de questionário com um número de 180 alunos de seis turmas de 1º e 4º Ano do ensino médio entre os anos de (2014-1017). Comprovou-se de iní­cio que os discentes possuí­am informações básicas sobre o meio ambiente. Todavia, não existia o sentimento de empoderamento e cuidado com o meio ambiente, como o pertencimento desses junto a este. Após as atividades realizadas, os discentes apresentaram aprofundamento do assunto, inclusive para buscar alternativas de preservação do meio ambiente no cotidiano.
