The objective of this work is to analyze the practice of ecotourism in the Mata do Pau-Ferro State Park as a strategy for the sustainable use of the Conservation Unit. This place is located in the municipality of Areia, State of Paraí­ba, Brazil, in the micro-region of the Brejo Paraibano. The methodology used was a bibliographical survey of the main authors that approach the theme in question and on-site visitation, where questionnaires were applied with people who work directly or indirectly with the tourist activity in this State Park. Considering that on this place the practices are focused on ecological tourism through the trails, which makes possible the contact with natural environments and performs a series of tourist activities based on the sustainable relation with nature, it was observed that the intense use of this State Park has impacted the sustainable management due to the high degree of visits. There is a need to implement efficient fiscal measures through the elaboration and implementation of a management plan with the objective of reconciling the ecotourism activity with the carrying capacity of the environment, thus promoting its conservation.
