An outside language: an interface between legal and illegal drugs in mental health care

Resumo: The article discusses a narrative policy in order to deal with the relationship between legal and illegal psychotropic drugs in mental health care practices by articulating psychedelia and beat literature with the participation of the authors in a multicentre research on Autonomous Medication Management (GAM) – intervention approach in mental health emerged in Canada in the 1990s. The article develops from the interface between prescribed and proscribed drugs at GAM as off-axis, aesthetical and political aspects of an outside language in its power to stop or to change the associative chains usually driven by the theme drugs.
