“The other voices”: Female paths, political culture and emancipatory processes in Guinea-Bissau

Resumo: | In Guinea-Bissau, the armed struggle for national liberation unleashed between the 1960s and 1970s managed to coalesce around a common cause different people. In this process, women participated actively. However, the question that arises is on which way female participation occurred and what were the claims generated within the process. What were the achievements and limits of independence and its impact on women? Based on life stories of women who participated directly or indirectly in the independence process, on documental and bibliographical analysis and from a gender perspective, the article discusses the main steps of the building citizenship of the Guinean women. Nesse processo, as mulheres participaram ativamente. No entanto, a questão que se coloca é a de saber em que se traduziu a participação feminina nesse processo e quais foram as reivindicações nele geradas. Quais foram as conquistas e os limites da independência e o seu impacto nas mulheres? O texto procura discutir, a partir de algumas narrativas de mulheres que participaram de forma direta ou indireta no processo de independência, e com base em uma análise documental e bibliográfica e em perspectiva de gênero, os principais momento da construção da cidadania e de uma cultura política entre as mulheres guineenses.En Guinea-Bissau, la lucha armada por la liberación nacional desatada entre las décadas de 1960 y 1970 logró reunir a diferentes pueblos por una causa común. En este proceso, las mujeres participaron activamente. Sin embargo, la pregunta que surge es a qué se ha traducido la participación femenina en este proceso y cuáles fueron las demandas generadas en él. ¿Cuáles fueron los logros y los límites de la independencia y su impacto en las mujeres? El texto busca discutir, en base a algunas narraciones de mujeres que participaron directa o indirectamente en el proceso de independencia, y en base a un análisis documental y bibliográfico y en una perspectiva de género, los principales momentos en la construcción de la ciudadanía y una cultura. política entre las mujeres guineanas.
