DISEÑO E IMPLEMENTACIÓN DE UNA UNIDAD DIDÁCTICA CON PERSPECTIVA EN CUESTIONES SOCIOCIENTÍFICAS

This work is characterized by the following purposes: (1)  to design and implement a didactic unit with a socio-scientific perspective and (2) to contribute to the prevention of problematic marijuana consumption in adolescents and young people who attend Escuela de Educación Secundaria Orientada No. 440 Simón de Iriondo (Santa Fe, Argentina). The methodology was qualitative, descriptive and cross-sectional. The design of the didactic unit was carried out jointly, with the intervention of teachers from different curricular areas, including: health and adolescence, biology, chemistry, information technology, and construction of citizenship and identity. It was implemented in three fourth years (two courses belonging to the morning shift and one corresponding to the night shift) with the active participation of seven teachers and fifty-two students. Addressing the didactic unit from multiple angles (social, cultural, economic, scientific, religious, historical) made it possible to analyze and rethink the complexity of this theme. Practices that occasionally adolescents and young people naturalize and/or consider to be harmless were probelmatized through the study of their effects on health. It is concluded that the approach to problematic marijuana consumption in schools is an emergent that requires institutional policies that transcend the specificity of the disciplines, and contemplates the articulation with other institutions and/or specialized professionals. The school leadership team  considered the possibility of institutionalizing the approach to problematic marijuana consumption in the following years. The evaluation of the didactic unit is in process.
