Resumo: This opening paper of the special discusses the initial training of teachers in school contexts and the binomial theory-practice focusing, in particular, on supervised practicum. By means of two statements, we seek to demonstrate that each element of the binomial taken in isolation tends not to fulfill its formative purpose. Por meio de duas enunciações, busca-se demonstrar que cada elemento do binômio tomado de forma isolada tende a não cumprir seu propósito formativo. Ainda, tem como objetivo compartilhar diferentes modos de ver os estágios supervisionados nos cursos de licenciatura a partir dos estudos e pesquisas que compõem o dossiê. Assim, espera-se contribuir para fortalecer a necessidade de uma formação docente pautada na investigação e na construção de uma prática reflexiva, investindo nos estágios supervisionados como espaços para a construção de um trabalho de apreensão, aprofundamento e de compreensão sobre os problemas que envolvem a educação. Este artículo de apertura del numero especial analiza la formación inicial del profesorado en contextos escolares y el binomio teoría-práctica centrándose, en particular, en las prácticas supervisadas. Mediante dos enunciados, buscamos demostrar que cada elemento del binomio tomado de forma aislada tiende a no cumplir con su propósito formativo. Aún así, pretende compartir distintas formas de ver las prácticas supervisadas en cursos de grado a partir de los estudios e investigaciones que componen el numero especial. Así, se espera contribuir a fortalecer la necesidad de formación docente basada en la investigación y la construcción de una práctica reflexiva, invirtiendo en pasantías supervisadas como espacios de construcción de aprehensión, profundización y comprensión del trabajo sobre los problemas que implican la educación.
