Resumo: This paper discusses how grammatical aspects of direct and indirect speech affect the evaluation of the argument from expert opinion. Direct speech is often characterized by having two different discourse acts and, consequently, two deictic centres; and indirect speech is regarded as one discourse act with one deictic centre. These grammatical structures have different pragmatic effects, mainly because in direct speech, the reported content is assumed to be faithful in form and content. In contrast, in indirect speech, the current speaker embeds the reported content in their speech. Considering these features, this work provides a comparative analysis of the types of reported speech and their relation to Wagemans’ (2011) argument scheme and critical questions and offers modifications in the existing argument schemes to allow a more precise evaluation of arguments.

El discurso directo suele caracterizarse por tener dos actos de habla diferentes y, en consecuencia, dos centros deícticos; y el discurso indirecto es considerado como un acto discursivo con un centro deíctico. Estas estructuras gramaticales tienen diferentes efectos pragmáticos, principalmente porque, en el discurso directo, se supone que el contenido referido es fiel en forma y contenido, mientras que, en el discurso indirecto, el hablante actual incorpora el contenido referido en su habla. Teniendo en cuenta estas características, este trabajo trae un análisis comparativo de los tipos de discurso referido y su relación con el esquema argumentativo y los temas críticos de Wagemans (2011) y ofrece modificaciones a los esquemas argumentativos existentes para permitir una evaluación más precisa de los argumentos.Cet article examine comment les aspects grammaticaux du discours direct et indirect affectent l'évaluation de l'argument à partir de l'opinion d'experts. Le discours direct est souvent caractérisé par deux actes de discours différents et, par conséquent, deux centres déictiques ; et le discours indirect est considéré comme un acte de discours avec un centre déictique. Ces structures grammaticales ont des effets pragmatiques différents, principalement parce qu'au discours direct, le contenu rapporté est supposé fidèle dans la forme et dans le contenu. En revanche, dans le discours indirect, le locuteur actuel intègre le contenu rapporté dans son discours. Compte tenu de ces caractéristiques, ce travail fournit une analyse comparative des types de discours rapportés et de leur relation avec le schéma d'argumentation et les questions critiques de Wagemans (2011) et propose des modifications dans les schémas d'argumentation existants pour permettre une évaluation plus précise des arguments.Este artigo discute como aspectos gramaticais do discurso direto e indireto afetam a avaliação do argumento a partir da opinião de especialistas. O discurso direto é muitas vezes caracterizado por ter dois atos discursivos diferentes e, consequentemente, dois centros dêiticos; e o discurso indireto é considerado como um ato discursivo com um centro dêitico. Essas estruturas gramaticais têm efeitos pragmáticos diferentes, principalmente porque, no discurso direto, o conteúdo relatado é assumido como fiel em forma e conteúdo, enquanto no discurso indireto, o falante atual incorpora o conteúdo relatado em sua fala.
