On the Maragogi beach in Alagoas, part of the APA Costa dos Corais, tourism is an intense activity where management seeks to bring together conservation and environmental preservation. In the pursuit of environmental conservation and preservation, tourism must be monitored under economic, social, ecological and political aspects and the community's view of the practice of local tourism can represent an important element in the design of environmental protection. In November and December 2017 and December 2018, the peak season for tourism, questionnaires were communicated to 35 professionals employed in lodging facilities and employees of receptive companies to find out what they think about the practice of tourism. Through the Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo (DSC), 15 social representation discourses were taken. The most representative DSC demonstrate the need for an open sewage solution, solid waste management and CDW, waterfront management, combating mangrove building and greater control of visitation to natural pools made up of coral reefs as topics to be considered by local management for the conservation, environmental preservation and sustainability of tourism in that tourist destination. In addition, public management and private initiative efforts are recommended to raise environmental awareness in smaller hotel facilities (inns and hostels), as they represent the largest number of accommodation units and have a greater shortage of financial resources to promote active actions a environment of the natural environment protected by law.
