Look at the hidden face of the moon: a reflection on the role of women in the struggle for national liberation. The case of the MPLA (1960-1965)

Resumo: The 1960s marked a pivotal era in the fight for national liberation, particularly the option of armed struggle within the context of anti-colonial movements. Among the key participants in this transformative period was the MPLA (Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola), encompassing both men and women. This text proposes, thus, some reflexive elements from discoursive productions, shed light on the role of women in the liberation struggle, in the light of the notion of sexual division of labor;  in order to contribute to the questioning of gender relations within the MPLA, in the course of the liberation struggle.
