In this work two Colombian novels are analyzed, María de Jorge Isaacs and Afuera crece un mundo de Adelaida Fernández, as a reading and re-reading of the imaginary of the nation and its views from homogeneous or heterogeneous conceptions of time. Thus, our proposal is based on a reading from the New Historical Novel, interpreting the latter in the work of Fernandez as a rewriting and a parody or parallel song on the diaspora within the imaginary of the nation and in a desire to tell the story of the defeated, the black African universe, understanding the past as Benjaminian ruin. Thus, Fernández's work rewrites the history of the African black slave trade, from the heterogeneous time of the contemporary nation, with the eagerness to overcome the colonial wound, including the narration of trauma, mourning and the power of cultural reoriginalization presented by the enslaved, in the same way as heterotopia, given through the ship as a breaking symbol of the chronotope of slavery.
