Caracterização geotécnica do município de Arapiraca - AL, por meio da análise de perfis de sondagem SPT

The following work results from the cartographic analysis of the city of Arapiraca, which is located in the Agreste region of Alagoas, as well as it’s geographical characteristics, and geotechnical characteristics coming from survey bulletins of simple recognition, Standard Penetration Test (SPT). The area of study involves approximately 351 km², which includes the entire city. The methodology used for the characterization of this area was by mapping through the software ArcGiz 10.1, utilizing data from the municipal government of the city. The data were selected from boreholes in remote and central areas of the city, by the collection of NSPT values, water level, and the impenetrable quota. The maps that were produced showed that the city of Arapiraca has an impenetrable in an approximate quota between 5 and 6 meters below the surface horizon. The survey bulletins allowed verifying that the subsoil of the region is clearly divided into two zones, which the portion more to the north of the city is basically composed of a layer of sandy material with little variation in relation to its depth, and below, in the portion further south, it is noticed the occurrence of predominantly clay soils, and also with little variation material in relation to its depth. Meanwhile, besides being a pioneering study in the scenario of Alagoas, the work brings together important geotechnical informations that can be used by the Arapiraca city government as a subsidy to map areas for new constructions that are of interest to public agencies and private companies. The documents generated in this study can be used as a help in the preliminary estimation of geotechnical characteristics in areas of interest.
