This research aims to analyze, as a qualitative research, a teaching experience developed in two schools in the municipal network and two more schools in the state education network of Maceió. This experience took place from the Project “11,645 Motivos” of the Affirmative Action Program Edital Maninha Xukuru Kariri and Zumbi 2016. The project was coordinated by professors Doctors Ivanildo Piccoli and Toni Edson. Through lectures, afro dance workshops, cine axé (in partnership with the “Cine Axé” project by professor José Acioli) and African-American storytelling, provocations were made for teachers and students. Starting from the dance workshops as the main pillar, we associate orality and audiovisual to think about ways of applying Law 11,645 / 2008. The Project was based on the magazine Kulé Kulé: Visibilidades Negras and the book Discussing Ethnicities: food, Afro-religious, black intellectual paths, linguistic policies and indigenous adornments. For this writing, we will count in the first chapter with references by Lucimar Dias (2004); Carlos Cury (2000) and Vera Lopes (2003); in the second chapter with references by Toni Santos (2015) and Bruno Cavalcanti (2006); in the third chapter with references by Amanda Lima (2011) and in the fourth chapter with references by Rosália Duarte (2011). Through this action research, we sought to understand the teaching challenges in implementing multicultural practices through Law 11.645 / 2008. This work has the conclusion that public schools in the Jacintinho neighborhood do not apply Federal Law 11.645 / 08, except on the commemorative dates of April 19 and November 20.
