Resumo: In this work a study is carried out on the phenomenon of rural pluriactivity in Brazil and how it applies to the reality of the inhabitants of Sítio Gritos, in the rural area of the municipality of Tupanatinga/PE. Some concepts of Family Agriculture are approached, being verified how complex such subject is. Family farming is approached in Brazil and as it ends up not being able to meet the demands of a family, which leads them to have to resort to other activities in order to supplement their income. After conducting research using a questionnaire applied to a sample of the inhabitants of the studied place, it was verified that about 74% of them have to carry out another activity to try to guarantee a more worthy income monthly. Validating the hypothesis inferred by the author and following the line of what has been published by the most respected scholars in the area.

São abordados alguns conceitos de Agricultura Familiar, verificando-se o quão complexo tal assunto é. É abordada a agricultura familiar no Brasil e como essa acaba por não conseguir suprir as demandas de uma família, o que os leva a ter de recorrer a outras atividades para poder complementar sua renda. Após a realização de pesquisa por meio de questionário aplicado a uma amostra dos habitantes do local estudado, verificou-se que cerca de 74% destes tem de exercer outra atividade para tentar garantir uma renda mais digna mensalmente.
