This study aims to understand how the Social Service professional can contribute to the prevention and awareness of the risks related to teenage pregnancy. Adolescence is a please of transformation and rupture with childhood, leading young people to physical and psychological changes. The present work makes a cut on teenage pregnancy, considering the risks to physical health related to an early pregnancy and the disruption that motherhood - paternity can generate in the social life and in the young person`s routine. Among the points addressed, the risks related to pregnancy during adolescence are discussed and an overview of teenage pregnancy in Brazil is made. Specifically, the actions that can be taken by the Social Service professional in terms of prevention and awareness of teenage pregnancy, as well as the parameters of the Social Service professional's role in education and health are highlighted. As a methodology, a bibliographic, qualitative and descriptive research is carried out, in which books and database sites are consulted to assist in the understanding of the theme and in obtaining the necessary answers to the conclusion of the study. As a result, it was found that the Social Service professional must be dynamic, understanding the realities of teenage pregnancy in each scenario they encounter, seeking to carry out personalized actions that impact, educate and prevent attitudes that put the future of adolescents at risk. It is considered that, as a professional prepared to decipher realities, communicate with people with different identities and go through different contexts, the Social Work professional is prepared to modify paradigms and reduce teenage pregnancy rates. Among the authors that supported the study are Lima and Patriota (2010), Rios et al. (2017) and (SQUIZATTO; HERCULANO, 2013).
