Resumo: This article aims to analyze the contributions of female leaders in COPPABACS, Cooperative of Small Agricultural Producers of Community Seed Banks and Union of Rural Workers - STTR, from Delmiro Gouveia, Alagoas, correlating with the historical perspective of being and living as a woman. The research is of a qualitative nature, in which semi-structured interviews and direct observation were recorded in a field diary. Two women from COPPABACS and one from STTR were interviewed. It was concluded that there is a need to broaden mentalities regarding the leadership role that women occupy, demystifying the position of subordination, which was delegated centuries ago. The contributions and speeches of women, leaders who call themselves as popular educators, show us a machismo that is still latent in the Alto Sertão de Alagoas field, however, they also demonstrate their contributions regarding the strength of the peasant and her struggle for a decent life in the country. COPPABACS and STTR women reveal the specifics of their work, asserting themselves as women of struggle and reaffirming the importance of their positions as a process of representation and breaking stigma arising from a society that is still androcentric.

A pesquisa é de cunho qualitativo, em que foram realizadas entrevistas semi-estruturadas e observação direta com registro em diário de campo. Foram entrevistadas duas mulheres da COPPABACS e uma do STTR. Concluiu-se, que há a necessidade de alargar mentalidades com relação ao papel de liderança que a mulher ocupa, desmistificando a posição de subalternidade, que foi delegada há séculos. As contribuições e discursos das mulheres, lideranças que se auto intitulam como educadoras populares, nos evidencia um machismo que ainda é latente no campo do Alto Sertão de Alagoas, entretanto, demonstram também seus contributos no que se refere a força da camponesa e sua luta por uma vida digna no campo.
