Resumo: | This study aimed to evaluate the production performance, egg quality and economic viability of Japanese quails laying fed byproducts of cassava. In the first two experiments were used 200 female quails (Coturnix japonica) with initial age of 120 days in 25 cages with 8 birds. The treatments consisted of five diets with 0; 3; 6; 9 and 12% inclusion of hay leaf and 0; 6; 12; 18 and 24% inclusion of cassava scrapings. In the third experiment were 224 female quails (Coturnix japonica) with initial age of 200 days, divided into 28 cages with 8 birds. There were four experimental diets with 0; 3% of (FFM), 6% of (RPM) and 3 + 6% FFM inclusion and RPM on the same ration. For experiments, I and II was not observed effect on consumption (feed/bird/day), feed conversion (g/dz) and (g/g) and percentage of stance. However, significant differences of treatments on feed conversion (g/dz) and the consumption (feed/bird/day), observed in the treatment with 24% RPM. There was no significant effect of inclusion levels of FFM nor did the RPM on the quality of quail eggs, however, alternate the color of the egg yolk of quail fed FFM. In experiment III, there was no effect of treatments on feed intake nor the laying percentage of quail. Significant effects of inclusion levels of cassava by-products on the feed conversion (g / g) and (g / dz), in which treatment with FFM + RPM on the same diet had the worst feed conversion. Significant effects of treatments on egg yolk color, and the best shades were for quail eggs fed with the inclusion of 3% of FFM and 3 + 6% of FFM and RPM on the same ration. However, it is concluded that the inclusion of up to 12% of FFM and 24% RPM in diets for laying quails does not affect the production performance, egg quality and becomes economically viable. However, the inclusion of 3 + 6% of FFM and RPM in the same ration provided worsening in quail and affect negatively the economic indices. |

Nos dois primeiros experimentos foram utilizadas 200 codornas fêmeas (Coturnix japônica) com idade inicial de 120 dias, distribuídas em 25 gaiolas com 8 aves cada. Os tratamentos foram compostos por cincos rações com 0; 3; 6; 9 e 12% de inclusão de feno da folha e 0; 6; 12; 18 e 24% de inclusão da raspa da mandioca. No terceiro experimento foram utilizadas 224 codornas fêmeas (Coturnix japônica) com idade inicial de 200 dias, distribuídas em 28 gaiolas com 8 aves cada. Foram utilizadas quatro rações experimentais com 0; 3% de (FFM); 6% de (RPM) e 3 + 6% de inclusão de FFM e RPM na mesma ração. Houve diferença significativa dos tratamentos sobre a conversão alimentar (g/dz) e sobre o consumo de (ração/ave/dia), observados no tratamento com 24% de RPM. Não houve efeito significativo dos níveis de inclusão do FFM e nem da RPM sobre a qualidade dos ovos de codornas, entretanto, alternaram a coloração da gema dos ovos de codornas alimentadas com FFM. Houve efeito significativo dos níveis de inclusão dos subprodutos da mandioca sobre as conversões alimentares (g/g) e (g/dz), na qual o tratamento com FFM + RPM na mesma ração apresentou a pior conversão alimentar. Contudo, conclui-se que a inclusão de até 12% de FFM e de 24% de RPM em rações para codornas japonesas em postura não afeta o desempenho zootécnico além de melhorar a qualidade dos ovos e torna-se economicamente viável.
