Resumo: | Recent studies have discussed the relationship between thermal and energetic performances of buildings and the wast of eletricity. Such a relationship by factors such as natural ventilation, use of artificial lighting and conditioning systems, equipment distribution across environments, thermal properties of the architectural envelope components, in addition to the users’ environmental and behavioral variables. In a hot and humid climate scenario, for instance, wherein architectural design also play a part in not being suited to the climate, it is observed a growing need for the use of artificial conditioning as a way of obtaining thermal comfort. It can be noticed that, in some hot and humid regions, particularly in the city of Maceió/AL, many buildings are constructed in a single way, whether they are naturally ventilated or artificially climatized. Another aspect concerns the fact that the environments are built to be exclusively with artificial air conditioning. Such places, designed to operate at maximum capacity, result in cold environments on milder climatic days or when there is a lower occupancy rate in them, therefore causing thermal discomfort and energy waste. Thus, the objective of this work is to verify the impact of the definition of internal temperature in conditioned school environments, when they are located in hot and humid climate places, in order to achieve thermal comfort and better power consumption. For that purpose, parametric analyses based on monitoring of environmental variables and computational thermoenergetic simulations were carried out through the software Energy Plus. Equipment for on-site measurement and the TRY reference climate file for the city of Maceió were used in the simulations, with the purpose of calculating thermal changes and energy consumption of the building from the modeling of a representative case study of buildings with exclusive use of artificial cooling. The variation of some elements of the aforementioned building was used, as were the literature recommended parameters, such as: Air conditioning coefficient of performance (COP), besides the envelope absorptance, the activation temperature (setpoint) of air-conditioning systems, orientarion variation, assuming there is solar protection in the openings of the existing building. Through the perception of the users, it was possible to set the predicted temperature as comfortable and it could be later simulated in regards to the energy consumption. Results have shown that not only the envelope’s physical parameters and the land implantation based on the solar chart impact on the reduction of energy consumption, but it also impacts on aspects related to the air conditioner unit’s potency, which reduced around 12% in the savings of this consumption. |
