Resumo: | The use of construction techniques different from the usual ones as an alternative to those disseminated worldwide, such as reinforced concrete, is increasingly on the rise, due to factors such as sustainability and scarcity of raw materials. Therefore, the present study aims to present the constructive stages of container constructions, based on the example of the design of a standard family residence. In addition, present buildings with this typology around the world and compare the cost of a conventional construction, of reinforced concrete and masonry, with that of a construction in container. One of the main characteristics of the use of containers in civil construction is its sustainability, with a focus on the reuse of a material that had been discarded. Just like other prefabricated materials, the container has the factor of being dry and quick to build. For the cost comparison, budget spreadsheets were used, such as Basic Unit Cost per square meter (CUB/m²) found on the website of the Brazilian Chamber of Construction Industry, together with reference values from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE ) for information on the cost of the same residence in the conventional construction method. For container construction, the values from the National System for Research on Civil Construction Costs and Indexes (SINAPI), found on the CAIXA website, were used, together with market quotations based on the details of the developed projects of architecture, electrical installations, hydrosanitary installations and the roof. The results showed savings compared to conventional construction, in addition to a quick, clean and sustainable work. Therefore, it becomes feasible to build a residential with the method using containers. |

Portanto, o presente estudo tem como objetivo apresentar as etapas construtivas de construções em contêiner, tendo como base para exemplo o projeto de uma residência familiar padrão. Além disso, apresentar construções com essa tipologia ao redor do mundo e comparar o custo de uma construção convencional, de concreto armado e alvenaria, com o de uma construção em contêiner. Uma das principais características da utilização de contêineres na construção civil é a sua sustentabilidade, com enfoque na reutilização de um material que havia sido descartado. Assim como outros materiais pré-fabricados, o contêiner apresenta o fator de ser uma construção seca e rápida. Para o comparativo de custo, usou-se planilhas orçamentárias tais como, Custo Unitário Básico por metro quadrado (CUB/m²) encontrado no site da Câmara Brasileira da Indústria da Construção, juntamente com valores de referência do Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) para informações no custo da mesma residência no método construtivo convencional. Para a construção em contêiner, foram utilizados os valores do Sistema Nacional de Pesquisa de Custos e Índices da Construção Civil (SINAPI), encontrado no site da CAIXA, juntamente com cotações de mercado com base no detalhamento dos projetos desenvolvidos de arquitetura, instalações elétricas, instalações hidrossanitárias e o de cobertura. Os resultados mostraram uma economia em relação a construção convencional, além de uma obra rápida, limpa e sustentável.
