Resumo: Saving money is a challenging activity for Brazilians nowadays. Those who show a more thrifty attitude choose to make investments through the savings account, showing ignorance in relation to other investments that provide greater profitability. Thus, this article presents a study whose objective was to analyze the profile of the individual investor in the financial market and fixed and variable income. A bibliographic review and a quantitative research were carried out through the application of a questionnaire with 15 questions to 62 interviewees from the courses of Accounting, Administration and Economics students at UFAM.

Aqueles que apresentam uma postura mais poupadora optam pela realização de investimentos por meio da caderneta de poupança, apresentando desconhecimento em relação a outros investimentos que proporcionam maior rentabilidade. Assim, este artigo apresenta um estudo cujo objetivo foi analisar o perfil do investidor individual do mercado financeiro e renda fixa e variável. Foram realizadas uma revisão bibliográfica e uma pesquisa quantitativa por meio da aplicação de questionário com 15 questões a 62 entrevistados dos cursos de alunos de Ciências Contáveis, Administração e Economia da UFAM.
