Desempenho de cultivares de milho safrinha (Zea mays L.) para o município de Humaitá-AM

Resumo: | Corn (Zea mays, L.) is cultivated in a large part of the Brazilian territory using different production systems. However, its production efficiency is still low, considering the potential of commercially available genetic material. Due to the large number of commercial corn cultivars, the speed of their replacement in the market and the variability of their agronomic characteristics, technicians and farmers need information for the correct choice of cultivars most suitable for the soil and climate conditions of their region. The objective of this research was to evaluate the performance of different maize cultivars in the off-season for the municipality of Humaitá-AM. The experiment was carried out at the Mangabeira Experimental Farm of the Instituto de Educação Cultura e Ambiente of the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM), located on BR 230, km 3, right side, towards Humaitá- Porto Velho, coordinates 7°31' 49.9'' S and 63º03' 17.6'' W, with an elevation of 60 meters, in a natural field area. The variables evaluated were plant height, stem diameter, height of insertion of 1 ear, flowering, shoot dry mass, ear size, ear diameter, amount of grains per ear, weight of 1000 grains (g), grain yield (kg ha-1). The experimental design was installed in randomized blocks (DBC), with treatments that were at eight (8) corn cultivars, with three replications. Each plot had 10 crop rows per x 5 m in length. The spacing between rows was 0.50 m. The useful area was 6 central lines, leaving two lines on each side as borders. The data were submitted to analysis of variance (F test), and the means were compared by the Tukey test, at the 5% probability level, using the SISVAR® software. The cultivars that obtained the highest values in grain yield were: KWS 9555 VIP3, KWS 9606 VIP3, KWS 9105 VIP3, and RB 9110 PRO2, with averages of 8,514.00; 7,670.00; 6,184.00 and 5,467.00 respectively. Therefore, they presented satisfactory characteristics for their cultivation in the region. |

Entretanto, sua eficiência de produção ainda é baixa, considerando o potencial do material genético disponível comercialmente. Em virtude da grande quantidade de cultivares comerciais de milho, da rapidez de sua substituição no mercado e da variabilidade de suas características agronômicas, técnicos e agricultores necessitam informações para a correta escolha das cultivares mais adequadas às condições edafoclimáticas da sua região. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi avaliar o desempenho de diferentes cultivares de milho, no período safrinha para o município de Humaitá-AM. O experimento foi realizado na Fazenda Experimental Mangabeira do Instituto de Educação Cultura e Ambiente da Universidade Federal do Amazonas (UFAM), localizada na BR 230, km 3, lado direito, sentido Humaitá- Porto Velho, coordenadas 7°31’ 49.9’’ S e 63º03’ 17.6’’ W, com elevação de 60 metros, em área de campo natural. As variáveis avaliadas foram, altura da planta, diâmetro do colmo, altura da inserção da 1 espiga, florescimento, massa seca da parte aérea, tamanho da espiga, diâmetro da espiga, quantidade de grãos por espiga, massa de 1000 grãos (g), produtividade de grãos (kg ha-1). O delineamento experimental foi instalado em blocos ao acaso (DBC), com tratamentos que foram às oito (8) cultivares de milho, com três repetições. Cada parcela teve 10 linhas de cultivo por x 5 m de comprimento. O espaçamento entre fileiras foi de 0,50 m. A área útil foi de 6 linhas centrais, deixando duas linhas de cada lado como bordadura. Os dados foram submetidos à análise de variância (teste F), e as médias comparadas pelo teste Tukey, ao nível de 5% de probabilidade, utilizando o software SISVAR®. As cultivares que obtiveram os maiores valores em produtividade dos grãos, forão: KWS 9555 VIP3, KWS 9606 VIP3, KWS 9105 VIP3, e RB 9110 PRO2, com médias de 8.514,00; 7.670,00; 6.184,00 e 5.467,00 respectivamente.
