Resumo: | The world is progressively investing and looking for new and cleaner energy alternatives. This work studies the option for energy generation through the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) in which the main fuel for this system is the Açaí biomass. In recent years, they occur in Brazil and also in the state of Amazonas, one of the greatest demands and manipulation of the açaí fruit, and the residues of this fruit, for the most part, still do not have adequate destination. In this project a thermal efficiency simulation study is conducted through the objective function associated with a thermal model of the CRO system. From the development of a computational routine, in open code, in the Wolfram simulator, the simulation study of the thermal efficiency of the proposed CRO cycle was carried out, indicating the best configuration from 09 (nine) possible scenarios obtained by the selection of 03 (three) working fluids and 03 (three) biomass boilers available in the domestic market. The commercial fluids set for this study are the refrigerants R245fa, R123 and R134a. And the commercial boilers that were part of the selection of this project are from manufacturers Henan Yuanda Boiler Corporatin LTD, Xinxiang Gongshen Boiler Co. and Henan Dakai Thermal Technology. Due to the thermodynamic properties inherent to organic working fluids that directly influence the optimization of component design, operating conditions and cycle efficiency, it is possible to verify the performance of the cycle and how it behaves thermodynamically in conditions closer to real ones through simulations. computational, using equations of thermodynamic properties, and comparing results of efficiencies. The simulation model, despite being a simplified model, proved to be adequate to select the CRO boiler and working fluid set combined with açaí as biofuel. From 9 simulated scenarios, the fluid R134a and boiler 2 model: WNS2-1.25-Q of the company Xinxiang Gongshen Boiler Co.Ltd were selected as a “best configuration” of the system in this work. Manufacturer, Trading Company.
