The objective of this article is to analyze the role that a determined educational proposition acquires, after the 1990’s, as a strategy to the relief of poverty. We assume for the analysis the preponderant role that the World Bank takes on in this sense, in the proposition of social policies according to the so called productive restructuring basing its “concern” with the relief of poverty by means of incrementing the productivity of the poor. One refers, in this position, to the importance of educational evaluation, once the education efficiency degree is “measured” by the result on large scale evaluative tests, in the sense of incrementing the productivity of the poor, materialized on their capacity to work.
