CRISIS, IMPERIALISM AND HISTORY OF EDUCATION OF THE BODY AT THE BEGINNING OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY: THE GENERAL AND THE SPECIFIC IN SCOUTING PROPOSITION OF ROBERT BADEN-POWELL (1857-1941)

Resumo: This paper analyzes the body education proposed by scouting as an element belonging to the imperialism logic of capitalism in the early twentieth century. Based on books written by Baden-Powell, we elaborated reflections divided into two parts: first, we show the importance of education of the body to the pedagogical discourses that existed in the early decades of the twentieth century. In the second part, we investigate the thought of Baden-Powell  to show that at the same time, he achieved two objectives: 1) he acted on the limits educational specifically linked to British and training of citizens capable of sustaining the British Empire, 2) while he has offered discourses and training practices that gave value to the body and its education.

A través del análisis de los libros escritos por Baden-Powell, preparó este texto, dividido en dos partes: en primer lugar, se estudia la importancia de la educación en los discursos pedagógicos del cuerpo que existía en las primeras décadas del siglo XX. En la segunda parte, se investiga el pensamiento de Baden-Powell para demostrar que, al mismo tiempo, el escultismo logra dos objetivos: 1) actuar sobre los límites educativos específicamente vinculados a británicos y la formación de ciudadanos capaces de sostener el Imperio Británico, 2) mientras que ofrecía discursos y prácticas de formación que valoran el cuerpo y su educación. O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar a educação do corpo proposta pelo escotismo como um elemento pertencente à lógica imperialista do capitalismo no início do século XX. A partir de livros redigidos por Baden-Powell, elaboramos reflexões divididas em duas partes: na primeira, mostramos a importância da educação do corpo para os discursos pedagógicos que existiram nas primeiras décadas do século XX. Na segunda parte, investigamos o pensamento de Baden-Powell para mostrar que o escotismo, ao mesmo tempo, atingiu dois objetivos: 1)atuou sobre os limites educacionais especificamente ingleses e ligados à formação do cidadão capaz de sustentar o império britânico; 2) ao mesmo tempo em que ofereceu discursos e práticas formativas que valorizaram o corpo e sua educação.
