Resumo: In Brazil, capital extreme events of precipitation are often broadcasted by press due to their big exploder force of environmental impacts into society. This work has the goal of identify and assess the daily capital extreme events of rain from the application of the stastistic methodology of precipitation capital levels in the cearence cities of Crato, Fortaleza and Sobral (highly urbanized and located into different geo-environmental contexts) facing factors and different situations which hinder the identification of an event as an extreme event. From January of 1980 to july of 2017 has been identified events of huge intensity, connected atmospheric systems and related impacts. Most of these events has occurred between february and may, usually connected to the intertropical convergence zone – ICZ. Among the registered impacts stand out floodings, homeless, injured people and dead ones. Even if these situations occur, planning and suitable management may contribute to implementation of adaptation and prevention strategies.
