Through this article it is intended to carry out a bibliographic review about some of the aspects that mark the process of Brazilian urbanization. In particular, we will address the recent transformations engendered in the Brazilian rural space and its effects on the generalization of the urban phenomenon in eminently agrarian spaces. In order to throw a renewed and critical look at the debate about Campo-Cidade and Rural-Ruban relations, it proposes a focus on the concept of 'agribusiness cities', coined by Denise Elias (2011) to designate spaces produced under the logic of financialized agriculture, and subordinate to it. By resuming different theoretical approaches to the production of Brazilian urban space, with its different views on the reconfigurations of the rural space, we offer important insigths to update a debate that has been fed by different ways of undertaking the overcoming of the dichotomy between the rural and the urban.
