Resumo: Analisa a situação do setor metal-mecânico na Bahia e estabelece as perspectivas desse setor industrial. Apresenta as características estruturais do complexo metal-mecânico, caracterizada pela homogeneidade de produtos e coexistência de diferentes processos produtivos. Mostra a competitividade desse complexo no Brasil, através da avaliação de capacitações, estratégias e desempenho. Apresenta a trajetória da indústria metal-mecânica na Bahia.
