Inclusive Innovations in Peripheral Regions: a study of the Local Production Arrangement of mandioca no Agreste alagoano

The activity of mandioculture consists of one of the oldest activities linked to agriculture, when analyzing the Brazilian market, it becomes evident the participation of 5 states in the productive concentration of this activity, being these Pará, Paraná, Bahia, Maranhão and São Paulo with 58 % of production. When we check the state of Alagoas, it occupies only 16th place in the national ranking, with 1% in the ranking of the Brazilian Northeast, this position is the 5th with 6%, always accompanied by the increase of production and national prices. The study sought to analyze the impacts of the inclusive innovations in the Local Productive Arrangement of Mandioculture in Alagoas, from the initial verifications, it became possible to perceive innovations in levels occurred, besides the possibility of increment in production, given the improvement of new productive varieties developed by EMBRAPA. With this, it is verified that the APL presents potentials, and potentialities for the development of new products, due to the improvement of the cultivars.
