The objective of this work is to present the digital repository as a tool for the protection, preservation and dissemination of traditional knowledge of the indigenous peoples of Roraima. For theoretical foundation, we sought to characterize the indigenous peoples of Roraima; to relate the principles, norms and legislations about Traditional Knowledge with those of Intellectual Property; define digital repositories and score their benefits. As a methodology, the following steps were carried out: comparative analysis of existing repositories in the region; planning; and implementation. As a result, the “Insikiran Digital Repository” is revealed, with a customized interface for the Insikiran Institute for Higher Indigenous Training, at the Federal University of Roraima, considering the responsibility for managing the repository. Finally, considering the mission of the sponsoring institution, and the principles of a digital repository, it is believed that the protection and preservation of traditional indigenous knowledge will be safe, with easy and free access.
