Resumo: This article presents a research that reports the perception of the coordinators of the Scientific and Technological Park (PCT) of the University of the Extreme South of Santa Catarina (UNESC), with the objective of describing how the UNESC's I-Park contributes to local development. The research with a qualitative approach, fundamentally brings an accurate reflection regarding the contribution of UNESC's I-Park to local development through the creation of businesses that can develop its region of operation. The data were collected from a semi-structured questionnaire and the analysis assumed a predominantly descriptive / reflective focus. It was found that the results suggest, far from being conclusive, broadening our understanding of the PCT's contribution to the development of its region of operation, providing a set of relevant information, both from the point of view of theoretical reflection and the point of the local reality of UNESC's I-Park and its social importance.

A pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa, fundamentalmente, traz uma reflexão acurada a respeito da contribuição do I-Parque da UNESC para o desenvolvimento local por meio da criação de negócios que possam desenvolver a sua região de atuação. Os dados foram coletados a partir de um questionário semiestruturado, e a análise assumiu um enfoque predominantemente descritivo/reflexivo.
