Resumo: The painting of a product is crucial for the success of the manufacturer, as the colors are decisive to meet the customer's expectations. Faced with the economic reality of competitiveness between companies and the evolution of technologies with industry 4.0, this work has as main objective to identify the current state of technological development in the industrial paint booth process from a technological prospect using the database of Orbit Intelligence patents using the defined keywords. 2,827 patents were identified where 10.2% are in force, on the other hand there are actors who have this percentage of patents in force greater than 80%. In the period from 2000 to 2020, an average of 72.4 patents/year was obtained, where different strategic profiles were perceived in terms of investment constancy. It was evident that the main actors are located in Asian and European countries. As a related area, Chemical Engineering stood out with 73.4% in the general panorama.

Diante da realidade econômica de competitividade entre empresas e a evolução das tecnologias com a indústria 4.0, este trabalho teve como principal objetivo identificar o estado atual de desenvolvimento tecnológico em processo de cabine de pintura industrial a partir de uma prospecção tecnológica utilizando o banco de dados de patentes Orbit Intelligence usando as palavras-chave definidas. Foram identificadas 2.827 patentes, das quais 10,2% estão em vigor, em contrapartida, há atores que possuem esse percentual de patentes em vigor maior que 80%. No período de 2000 a 2020, obteve-se a média de 72,4 patentes/ano, percebendo-se perfis estratégicos diferentes quanto à constância de investimento. Evidenciou-se que os principais atores estão localizados nos países asiáticos e europeus.
