Resumo: | With the advancement of cases of Covid-19 in the world, many pieces of equipment have become essential for the combat and control of the disease, one of which is the mechanical ventilator. This article aims to present the production of patents related to pulmonary ventilatory support. Regarding the methodology, the Lens.org platform was used to survey and analyze the data, using the search terms: medical ventilator, mechanical ventilator, lung and ventilation. 107 documents of these patents were analyzed, granted in the period from 1982 to 2020, with the United States being the largest patent applicant. No Brazilian patents were identified on the Lens.org platform. Thus, it is understood the need to expand the development of research on this equipment, encouraging companies and science and technology institutions to partner to expand studies on pulmonary ventilatory support that has become an ally in the control of Covid-19, in patients with respiratory failure. |
