Mapping of Intellectual Property in Federal Universities in the Northern Region

Resumo: The Northern Region has 11 Federal Universities and seven Federal Institutes, covering areas of knowledge whose productions are subject to legal protection. This article analyzes, between 2012 and 2022, their performance regarding innovative and technological development, considering: Computer Programs, Trademarks and Patents. As for the methodology, documentary analysis, bibliographic research and technological prospecting with the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) and predictive analysis were used, using the Python language. The search resulted in 39 Trademarks, 550 Patents and 301 Computer Programs. The Federal University of Pará stands out with the largest number of Intellectual Property assets. It was concluded that adequate planning of NITs contributes to increasing the protection of knowledge, as in the case of UFRA, Unifap and Ufopa. However, predictive analysis shows that there is no growth trend, requiring actions to encourage intellectual protection and the registration of brands and software.

O presente artigo analisa, entre 2012 e 2022, a atuação dessas instituições quanto ao desenvolvimento inovador e tecnológico, considerando: Programas de Computador e Marcas e Patentes. Quanto à metodologia, foram utilizados a análise documental, a pesquisa bibliográfica e a prospecção tecnológica junto ao Instituto Nacional da Propriedade Industrial (INPI) e a análise preditiva, utilizando a linguagem Python. A busca resultou em 39 Marcas, 550 Patentes e 301 Programas de Computador. A Universidade Federal do Pará se destaca com maior número de ativos de Propriedade Intelectual. Concluiu-se que o planejamento adequado dos NITs contribui para aumentar a proteção do conhecimento, como no caso da UFRA, da Unifap e da Ufopa.
