Given the numerous opportunities for R&D investment arising from the tax incentives of the Western Amazon and Amapá IT Law, along with the importance of prospective studies, future analysis, and Corporate Venturing strategy in R&D planning, aimed at supporting managerial decision-making, this study aims to analyze the relationship between the innovative profile of companies benefiting from the Zona Franca de Manaus (ZFM) IT Law and their R&D planning. This will be achieved through the documentary analysis of the pilot project forms of the new methodology for evaluating R&D Plans developed by the Superintendence of the Manaus Free Trade Zone. The findings reveal that R&D planning is still lacking in systematization and structure in terms of prospective methods. The sample's R&D execution, management, and planning team primarily comprises professionals with graduate degrees and postgraduate qualifications. The R&D strategies are focused on improving production processes and technological updates to maintain competitiveness in the market.
