Analysis of Local Development in the Scenario of Geographical Indications Recognized in Bahia

Geographical Indication is restricted to local blended producers and service providers, which can promote territorial development. It is questioned, therefore, why in the State of Bahia, which has a large number of Identity Territories, there are only four Geographical Indications produced. Given this, this article aims to analyze territorial development with the signs of the IG in Bahia, as well as to identify the feasibility of expanding new records in other regions of the state. Through a qualitative approach of an exploratory research, they were used as bibliographic and documentary techniques, from the bibliometric search in the Web of Science and Scopus databases. In view of the results, two documents directly related to the thematic focus of the research were retrieved, which demonstrates an initial stage of maturity, therefore, the realization of new researches, in order to discuss the generated and social impacts generated in the regions covered by them.
