The ICTs, with the help of the NITs, have the challenge of implementing their Innovation Policies in the academic environment, elaborating legal instruments with the objective of regulating internal rules to enable the transfer of technology. In this context, the Secrecy and Confidentiality Policy stands out, a legal instrument necessary to guide technology transfer relations, adapting the academic environment to the regulatory context. The research, from the perspective of nature and approach, was classified as applied and qualitative, and in relation to its objectives, it was classified as exploratory. The freedom to socialize knowledge was one of the most discussed factors within the scope of the study, since the IFES has as one of its principles the universality of knowledge, so the norm could not harm academic publications. In this way, the research brought out the importance of secrecy and confidentiality as a tool to support intellectual property at Ufopa.
