Resumo: Intellectual property works to protect everything that can arise from the human capacity to create. Among its assets, the Collective Brands play the role of exposing the representativeness of groups that unite towards a common objective and, thus, guarantee support, not only in a better market result, but also in defending the ancestry contained in traditional know-how, combined with the preservation of the environment. This article demonstrates the associative action of extractive women from Ilha do Combú, in Belém, state of Pará, Eastern Amazon, through the creation and development of their own Collective Brand. The methodology used to implement the Collective Trademark studied went beyond the stages of a diagnosis carried out in the community, the production of the distinctive sign and its validation among the associates, as well as the formal preparatory acts for its registration with the INPI. The results obtained demonstrate that working to protect the collective brand industrial property asset objectively contributes to a new business perspective for the island's workers, connecting traditional extractivism to its added value linked to creative female entrepreneurship and environmental preservation.
