Pre-Prospective Study for Technological Roadmap on Cognitive Radio: Scientific-Patentary Evolution Between 1970-2017

Resumo: | Technological advances such as digitization of the physical layers in the media have promoted great impact on the world society in a short period of time. In recent years, complex challenges posed by the Age of Knowledge include balancing the exponential rise of new users to a limited electromagnetic spectrum if used conventionally, as it does today. Cognitive Radio emerges as an enabling technology for the efficient and dynamic use of the spectrum, capable of raising service quality parameters, increasing the degree of reliability and full spectral utilization. This article explores trends pointed out by the Finnish study Trial Cognitive Radio Innovation Landscape in the period 1970-2011 and monitors the technological evolution between 2012 and 2017. Bibliometric analysis allows anticipating increasing maturity in areas such as spectrum sensing, cognitive & Spectrum sensing and dynamic spectrum sharing / management and intense innovative effort in white space & LTE, cognitive & LTE and cognitive & smart antenna. |

Nos últimos anos, complexos desafios propostos pela Era do Conhecimento incluem equilibrar o aumento exponencial de novos usuários a um espectro eletromagnético limitado se utilizado de forma convencional, como ocorre na atualidade. O Rádio Cognitivo emerge como uma tecnologia habilitadora para o uso eficiente e dinâmico do espectro, capaz de elevar os parâmetros de qualidade do serviço, ampliar o grau de confiabilidade e de plena utilização espectral. Este artigo explora tendências apontadas pelo estudo finlandês, Trial Cognitive Radio Innovation Landscape, no período 1970-2011 e monitora a evolução tecnológica entre 2012 e 2017.
